The Sunshine Garden Club held its’ first fundraiser of the year after our November 18th meeting. The fundraising team of Jan, Pam Morgan, Christine Sexton, Lynn Fursman and Jean Graham worked harder than Santa’s elves to bring festive crafts and yummy treats to sell to our members. This year we doubled our sales compared to last year’s event. Way to go team and a huge thank you to our club member’s support!
Before the ‘Funraiser’ began, we surprised the club with a live auction of two fairy cottages, lit up and decorated for the season. The betting was incredibly spirited as members competed for the chance to bring home their prize. With the bang of a gavel and a resounding “SOLD”, two lucky members (PSST – one was Judi) won these adorable fairy homes.
As shown in our photos, the tables were laden with hand-crafted or repurposed holiday crafts. Our team baker, aka Christine, made holiday breads and colorful treat jars. Lynn’s specialty is sugar scrubs and this year she made a delightful “Christmas Spirit” fragrance. Pam, the queen of all things lit up, had an incredible array of wine bottles with fairy lights, mugs with goodies and many beautiful plates on pedestals. Jean generously donated two fairy cottages and worked with Jan to give them a bit of Christmas spirit. Jan loves to repurpose platters and baskets and brought some to life with holiday splendor.
A good time was had by all!
Jan
